skywatch friday is back

  or perhaps I am back to sharing great pics of the sky,
this one taken from 11,200 feet on day three of my hike to Mt. Whitney.
God blessed with good weather, and only a few lightning storms and small rain showers.

first day on the trail

my camp was at gilbert lake,
where I enjoyed a great sunset ans some fishing.
Next morning over Kearsarge pass to look down on lakes of the same name.

winter builds a wall
and sun breaks it down
hardness grows in the heart of man
and God pours His oil to soften it
whiteness buries the works of man
for a season
then the colors of spring
bring back the excitement and life
that was covered but not forgotten.
So too
when I am covered by sadness or fog
when a veil shrouds my countenance
it is a matter of time
and light
until the grace and mercy
lift me up and raise me above the mist
that swirled around my head.
No longer can I waste the day
or worry away the night
it is time to shine
and give glory
back to Him who made me.

and full of all the colors that will come
in the wildflowers that even now
are planning their wild
extravagant displays
for God and anyone whose eyes
will look carefully
to see what is true
